UConn-Syracuse pregame primer

Still the best shooter in the house? Former Syracuse guard Gerry McNamara, now an assistant coach with the Orange, shoots (and humbles his younger partners) before Saturday's game against UConn. The Huskeis are warming up in the background. (Neill Ostrout photo)

We’re a few minutes before tipoff at the Carrier Dome. Many of the 32,000 fans expected to be in the house are already here.

No big news pre-game, which is a welcome considering some of the news UConn has received lately.

It’s hard to imagine the Huskies winning today, then again it’s hard to imagine them playing any worse than they have recently, right?

A few numbers to chew on:

UConn is 10-for-60 from 3 in its last four games.

Jeremy Lamb is shooting 10-for-37 in his last three.

Shabazz Napier is 4-for-33 over his last four.

— UConn will tweak its starting lineup, it seems. Napier, Lamb, Ryan Boatright, Alex Oriakhi and Andre Drummond will start. Oriakhi steps in for Tyler Olander, who had been starting at the four.

— For those of you who care about such things, Tim Higgins, Mike Roberts and Jeff Anderson are the officials today.
