Lamb, Drummond honored by Big East

UConn sophomore guard Jeremy Lamb was named Sunday to the All-Big East first team. Teammate Andre Drummond made the league’s all-rookie team.

Marquette was the only team to place two of its players on the first team, Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson-Odom. Crowder was a unanimous pick, perhaps giving a preview of the league’s player of the year award.

The voting was done by the conference’s head coaches, who weren’t allowed to vote for their own players.

The player, coach, rookie and scholar athlete of the year awards in the Big East will be announced Tuesday. The other league individual awards _ defensive POY, etc. _ will be handed out Monday.
