Wanted to pass along a few UConn news items.
No, there’s no word on the futures of Andre Drummond, Jeremy Lamb or coach Jim Calhoun (though you may not have to wait long on that info).
But ex-UConn G Tate George, who helped put the Huskies on the map with “The Shot”, is in a bit of hot water.
Also, the AP’s Pat Robb makes the point in a story today that UConn may not even officially know its 2013 NCAA Tournament fate until long after the NCAA Committee on Academic Performance’s April meeting. Seems like the uncertainty (UConn’s appeal and/or the change in rules) could continue into the summer.
— This is a UConn basketball blog, of course, but many of you know that I covered the Husky football team for a long time (for the-paper-that-must-not-be-named) so I’ll pass along some of my colleague and friend John Silver’s work when I get a chance.
Along those lines, here’s a feature from John on UConn quarterback Chandler Whitmer, a junior college transfer who began his career at Illinois. There’s a note on Tevrin Brandon, there too, the backup cornerback who was recently dismissed from the team.
And if you need a regular UConn football fix, be sure at check out John’s blog.
