The Big East released its breakdown of the 2012-13 schedule today, naming the opponents each team will face.
UConn has drawn (I say drawn but given is probably more appropriate) home-and-home series with Cincinnati, Providence, USF and DePaul. In other words, UConn isn’t expected to be quite the TV draw it normally is and/or expectations for the Huskies are quite low this season.
Big East teams will play 10 opponents once and repeat with four of them (the change needed as West Virginia departs for the Big 12).
The Huskies’ 18-game Big East slate includes home games against Cincinnati, DePaul, Georgetown, Louisville, Providence, Rutgers, USF, Syracuse and Villanova.
UConn has road games at Cincinnati, DePaul, Marquette, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Providence, St. John’s, Seton Hall and USF.
Last year UConn had home-and-homes against Syracuse, Notre Dame and Seton Hall.
The sites, times and dates for these games will be announced later.
