Samuel in the (Husky) house

Terrance Samuel, a 6-foot-3 guard from Brooklyn, committed to play for UConn Sunday, the website Coast2CoastHoops was first to report.

Samuel joins another New York area product (via Jamaica) in UConn’s Class of 2013. Six-foot-9 Kentan Facey, committed to the Huskies last month. Facey and Samuel play on the same AAU team.

Samuel, who attends South Shore High School, was also considering Rhode Island and Pittsburgh, among others, is a combo guard who will very likely end up being a point guard in college. Rivals.com has him ranked as the 11th-best point guard in the Class of 2013.
