Abdul Malik Abu, a 6-8 PF from Boston announced Saturday he’ll attend N.C. State. A top-50 national prospect in the Class of 2014, he had been considering UConn, Providence and Florida as well.

“They were real close, real close,” Abu said of the Huskies. “Kevin Ollie, he’s a great man. He might have been one of my favorite head coaches in the whole thing, if not the favorite. He’s a real guy, a friendly guy, real personable.

“UConn was a place where I definitely saw myself going. But I was more comfortable with the decision I made.”
