Calhoun released from hospital

Heading to Providence tonight for a clash between the Huskies and Friars but wanted to pass along a quick note before I do.

Coach Jim Calhoun was released from a hospital in New York Tuesday morning and headed home. He had back surgery some 24 hours earlier there.

The coach’s plan is to be back on the bench for UConn’s regular season finale Saturday against Pittsburgh. We’ll see if his recovery period allows it. (I wouldn’t bet against it.)
